THE SCALIBRINIAN
LAY MISSIONARIES
TODAY AND TOMORROW

The SLM is united by a common objective, which was expressed in its last International Meeting held at Campo Grande, Brazil, 22nd October 2000, in the affirmation that "being a Scalabrinian Lay Missionary means answering God's call by: living a continuous process of conversion, holding to, and expressing, an appropriate spirituality at all times and in all places in which one finds oneself, in short this means: Word, witness and prayer. Being a SLM member also means welcoming, recognizing and accepting the ethnic and cultural differences of each people; promoting and witnessing to hope; being joyful workers of solidarity; and finally, sensitive and communicative among migrants".

The Movement of the Scalabrinian Lay Missionaries is in the process of defining its statutes and stabilizing its organization on a local and on an international level, according to the approved directions given ad experimentum in their "General Directives" document.
