       Forthcoming activities of the Superior General and Councilors.
      November 1-16: Sr. Maria do Rosario Onzi, will have the conclusion of her canonical visit in Christ the King Province, with the visit to the four communities in Passo Fundo, and right after she will conclude her visit at the Province Headquarters, in Porto Alegre
    November 21- 23: III Meeting of the Superior General and Councilors with the Provincial Superiors.
     November 24 to 30: III Congregational Seminary of the Pastoral Care of Migrants, with the participation of Sisters, formandee and lay LMS, coming from the whole congregation. (cfr. Enclosed folder).
     December 1 -2: Meeting of the General Animator of Formation with the Coordinators of Formation of the Provinces of Brazil.
    December 1 -2: Meeting of the General Animator of the Apostolate with Director of CSEM and the directors of Centers of Studies of the Provinces.
     December 3 – 4: Meeting of the Animator of the Apostolate with the coordinators of the Apostolate of the Provinces.    

     December 6- 8: Meeting with the “Central Committee” of the actualization of the Proper Law, for the dissimilation of the works.

                    
 

II Historic Congress “An Ecclesiology in Scalabrini”.

We are accompanying with joy the preparation and the realization of the II Historic Congress that will be realized by the Scalabrinian Missionaries, within the celebrations of the Centenary of Scalabrini, with the theme:” The Ecclesiology in Scalabrini”
The even is celebrated in Piacenza on November 10-12, 2005, at the Mother House of the Scalabrinian Missionaries and the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. November 11, is also foreseen the conference of Mother Lice Maria Signor with the theme: “The commitment of the woman in the pastoral project of Scalabrini” Sisters Bruna Birollo, Giuliana Bosini, Sandra Maria Pinheiro, Jucelia Dall Bello and Marileda Baggio will represent the Scalabrinian Sisters. The convene foresees a dedicated day to the contribution given by the migrants and the Scalabrinians to the pilgrim church of Christ in the world.
 

    Inauguration of the Scalabrinian Lay Missionaries (LMS) in India

Sister Maruja Samaniego Padre Juan, responsible for the (LMS) Scalabrinian Lay Missionaries at the Province level has began to organize the LMS group in India. On September 19, 2005 at 7:00 a.m. in the morning. The celebration of the inauguration of the Scalabrinian Lay Missionaries (LMS) – India Nucleus took place during the Eucharistic Celebration at the Latin Archbishop’s Chapel in Vellayambalam. The celebration was presided by His Excellency Archbishop Soosa Pakiam, M., Latin Archbishop of Trivandrum. We congratulate Sister Maruja on her dedication and swiftness in expediting and organizing the LMS group in India. We also like to thank and congratulate the members of the Scalabrinian Lay Missionaries (LMS) in India. God Bless you and all your efforts in joining the Scalabrinian Family working for the needs of our migrant sisters and brothers in the world of migration.

 

European Meeting with the Lay Scalabrinian Missionaries

On October 14 – 16, it took place in Piacenza at the Provincial House the first European meeting of the LMS. During this event, 85 laity were present, accompany by the respective adviser Sisters at the mission of the country were they came from. The moments of studies and deepening of the Directives and the Scalabrinian Traditio were animated by Sr. Neusa de Fatima Mariano, General Animator of the LMS Movement and by Joseph Morsia, General Councilor for the Apostolate of the LMS Movement, which was followed by a debate at around table on the theme: “The Europe of the third Millennium – among migrants and search for identity “, and by moments of relationships in which the nucleus shared and brought light, and beauty of the work that they accomplished for the cause of the migrant, in different missions.
